Benton County Spelling Bee - 2024
Join us this year at the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis on May 11th from 9AM-11AM for the 2024 Spelling Bee!
Open to youth in Grades 1-12 (or equivalent), this competition promotes one of Rotary International’s Areas of Focus - Basic Education and Literacy.
Registration is open through May 7th for the event.
In 2016 the Rotary of Corvallis After Five discovered that there had not been a school and county level coordinator for Benton County in the Oregon Spellers Association for many years. This meant that Benton County's youth did not have an opportunity to qualify to compete in spelling at the state level. Rotary After Five decided to take on the coordination of the spelling competition for our region as a literacy project and, in May of 2017, held our first Benton County Spelling Bee, qualifying 3 young local scholars to represent us at the Oregon State Bee.
